Do you live near where your parents lived?

I was reading an article about population shifts. I guess it's the same through out the world. Young people moving away from home. One elderly man said, "We are the last generation who stayed with their parents.” I live in PA. My parents lived their lives in a small Massachusetts town, near their parents.. Do you live near where your parents lived?
 

I live 50 miles from where my parents lived and Grandparents also. I can walk to the same highway,I'm just at the other end of it now.
 

When I moved out of our house in the suburbs, my 1st apt was located around the corner from my childhood home
When my parents sold their house,they moved into an co op apt complex two blocks away from me
4 yrs later,I moved into the same apt complex,6 floors from them.We had a rule,every Sun we had dinner together.The rest of the week,we didn't see other.I always knew they had been in my apt,all I had to do was look in my refrigerator LOL!
In '92,they moved to a retirement community in Hanover,NH,over the yrs,would visit them as often as I could when I had time off from work Sue
 
Parents lived in NJ - 8 children - 1 in Fl, 1 in Maine, 1 in Massachusetts, the rest within 20 miles of parents home in NJ (one of Grand daughter's family lives in Mom and Dad's house now)
 
I don't live "near' where my parents lived. I live in the same house where they lived and my grandparents before them.

Although we still live here, we gave the house to our youngest daughter and her husband back in 1995 and share the home with them and their 2 children, now in high school and college. We retained a life lease to live out our days here with the agreement that if the house were to be sold, for what ever reason, the proceeds would be split between our two families.
 
All my life until a year ago I lived near my parents until they passed away, cousins, Aunt's and Uncles. When my Son married he only lived a few blocks away. After he got a divorce I still lived there and got to see my grandson's everyday. My grandson's are in college now and live on campus, so I don't see them as much.. A year ago my husband and I moved and now live close to my daughter and my 8yr old granddaughter.My son also lives near us now too.
 
Now that I'm retired, I live in the same country(Scotland), but about 200 miles from where my parents lived. Most of the time I lived in the south of England, about 450 miles away. My children live in the English midlands - about 400 miles from my present home.

This is a curiously mixed area. Quite a few family members live in close proximity to one another, while there are those who have come from other countries. Our two next door neighbours are brothers who built their own houses side by side and their parents live nearby. Of our closest friends in the village, one is from Southern England, and the other from Michigan.
 
We are about 1200 miles from where I grew up. They never lived this far south.
Our kids live about 2500 airline miles from here where they grew up.
 
We live close to where my husbands family lived.

His uncles said they used to play in the beaver pond behind our house.

His great grandfather was a preacher in a church less than a mile from us.

Funny how things circle around sometimes. We've lived in three different states and ended up here.
 
No. In fact, when the hubs and I married 45 years ago, we agreed not to live near either of our parents. We wanted to get away from the drama. I think it was a great decision. It meant I didn't have any help with my child, but it also meant I had no unwanted interference and guilt trips. Yep, it was a good decision. The fact that we eventually wound up in Texas is just icing on the cake.
 
I don`t live too near where my parents lived-3 hours away. But I do live in the same place where their summer cabin was and where I spent almost every single weekend of my childhood. We are on the largest natural lake in California. Never in a million years would I have dreamed that I would end up living here but here I am. It was wonderful as a kid,but as a teen,not so much. But hubby and I came up one weekend to attend a concert and fell in love. My dad absolutely loved it here and now I see why.
