I have high anxiety issues, and making New Year's resolutions only complicates it, so I just don't do it.

Making resolutions for me would be an automatic setting myself up for failure. Not interested in doing that.

If I don't make a radical change, NOW & Forever, I'm finished and I deserve to be. Cannot furnish details. Let's just say I can never live down something I did, and on Christmas, of all things. Filled with remorse.

I don't make New Year's Resolutions, but going into next year I have found myself with a list of repairs/updates I need to make to our house.

I have already contacted a plumber for a leaky exterior faucet and a painter to paint most of the interior of the house for an update. Our garage door occasionally doesn't go all the way down, so that's next. We have a dining room chandelier that no longer comes on so I've already contacted an electrician. We just found the paint for the trim in our house today and we've already been touching things up. We're looking at replacing our exterior coach lights and our dated ceiling fans. One step at a time.

We typically travel during 1st quarter, but we have nothing planned for the foreseeable future so my New Year's Resolution is getting our house in good shape.

I've suffered with anxiety all of my life so I can truly sympathize. I traveled frequently in my career and suffered from separation anxiety, so the days prior to my trips were always filled with nervousness and reluctance. I still have some days, even since retirement, that make me nervous.

99 and 44/100th percent of all New Years resolutions are broken within about 2 weeks max, so I no longer participate in that annual reinforcement of failure.

Or, another reason could be I don't think I made it to Jan 2 keeping resolutions.
But like seadog, I've got a long, long list of home repairs. I wonder why my little house can have so much stuff to do.
