There was a young man in Miami who had a face that was clearly Asian, but when he spoke it was with a British-Caribbean accent. It was strange.

I had to and I say "had to" work with engineers from Scotland on three occasions and I understood nothing they said. I asked others if it was just me and they all agreed it was not. We eventually got done what had to be done but it was unnerving in part because they took offense to us not grasping what they were saying.

We had a new boss from Scotland and I couldn't understand what he was saying at first.

But then later on I was able to pick up the words better so I know what you are talking about.
