Do you notice tissues are getting thinner? We have to buy more and more boxes.

Used to be you could use one or two tissues. Now I notice my husband takes a handful and uses them. All the brands seem to be the same. Anyone else notice this?

It's funny you mentioned this,because my Hubby and I had the same discussion earlier today. He was saying that he couldn't believe how often we are buying tissues.

I think they are getting thinner also and we are buying more often. I did notice that as we age the hubby and I are blowing our noses more often. My kids are always asking us if we are getting a cold. We don't have allergies or a cold we just have drippy noses.

Yes, they've been doing the same thing to groceries - not raising the price, but less product in the packaging. And, what really irritates me is the bathroom tissue roll is narrower - now there are a couple of inches on either side of the spool. And your hand is less protected..........

yes exactly, everything is smaller, and we still pay the same or more....

My experience has been that the cheaper store brand ones are getting better & I'm buying them over the brands. The last box of "K" I had a month or so ago had such a strong chemical odor I ended up discarding most of it.

I gave up on tissues and switched to absorbent paper towels as sort of a reusable/disposable handkerchief.

I always use Puff's tissues with lotion, because I do have allergies and in winter the cold air makes my nose run, so I'm always having to have tissues in my pocket. I haven't noticed the tissues getting thinner, but the paper towels definitely are getting thinner, I've been using Sparkle and Great Value from Walmart, but both have become worse in quality and slowly increasing in price.

My husband always used paper towels instead of tissues to blow his nose, but now he's not happy with the thinner towels. I bought one package of Brawny towels specifically for him to use, and he's good with them. I don't want to use such an expensive towel, because I rarely use less than two towels for any cleaning and always wanted the 'bargain' brand.

As far as TP, I've use Scott 1,000 sheets per roll for many years, and was happy with it. But....like Win mentioned, it's much more narrow than it ever was, the perforation between sheets is hardly there anymore, making it hard to tear, I also doubt that there are even 1,000 sheets on a roll anymore.

Very unhappy with the downgrade of quality in all of these products, but the price sure keep going up! :dollar::dollar:

Ever notice on fast food burger commercials people holding the burgers with both hands? Then when you go there you look down and see a little round thing a three year old holds with one hand. As for tissues they are thinner so you run out faster and buy more. Why are mouthwash caps three time the size required to hold enough for a rinse? Thank the marketing people for that, it's what they get paid to do.

Imagine that.....a handkerchief. How long since I've heard that...

I'm the only one who uses kleenex around here. My husband does that thing where he sucks water up his nose to clean his sinuses.

I'm too scared of drowning to even try it......

I always buy the "Quilted Northern 3 Ply." Doesn't take as much.

My dad always carried a "hanky". I never figured it out; blow your nose in to it and stick in your pocket then repeat as the day goes on!!! YUK~

I always carry a clean handkerchief. Think of it as sort of a "shop rag" for social living . . . useful for drying a lady's tears, stopping a child's nosebleed, mopping up an unfortunate spill and, yes, even blowing one's nose if nothing else is available. I would NEVER reuse one.

Yup, me too. I've carried one in my back pocket for as long as I can remember.
