Do you order Xmas presents online, or go to the store to buy them?

Do you order Xmas presents online, or go to the store to buy them?
Which do you like better? The convenience of a few clicks, or going to a Xmas decorated store? Which do you prefer to boost your Xmas spirits- or it doesn't matter.

These days I just stuff a very few envelopes.

The magic and wonder of holiday shopping is pretty much gone in the local mega mall stores.

I remember when the downtown department stores were locally owned and they all tried to out do each other. One local store had a monorail in the toy department.

Online shopping has gone full circle for me and I’m back to doing what little shopping I do in brick ā€˜n’ mortar stores.

Aunt Bea...I grew up in a small town but had a chance to spend Christmas a few times in the large city of Denver, Colorado! I recall going downtown with my Grandparents shopping. The Denver Dry Goods was the biggest departments store. But they had nothing like this.... this would have completely blown my mind (in a good way)! Still my Christmases in Denver were special for sure...

Thanks for sharing...

I do both, but physically in a store less and less. I can't remember when I was last in a mall. If I had to guess I'd say 2015.

Most of what I buy now are little things to personalize cash gifts, when possible something the receiver can fiddle with right after opening. Women get things like scarves or shawls, when possible in the colors I know they prefer. Men tend to get stuff like keychain flashlights, tiny folding knives, fidget gadgets, etc.

The grandson usually gets something off a list. I ask his parents, because I don't want to double-up anything or give something inappropriate or just more clutter. No cash for him but I usually choose things like child magazine subscriptions.

I shop online because the local shopping options in my town are rather dismal. But I have very fond memories of shopping at decorated brick-and-mortar stores in my hometown.

Both. Most things I purchase online merely from convenience but stocking stuffers I purchase from the store. I also purchase cookie tins from the $ store to send my gingerbreads in.

All of my family and friends want amazon gift cards so thats what they get. My daughter and grand in Va. get checks as gift cards are easy to feel in Christmas cards and are stolen. Makes Christmas and birthdays so much easier.

You mentioning the children magazine subscription brought back a funny memory. In 2002 I was visiting my friend in New York and she wanted to order the child version of National Geographic for her granddaughter which when our kids were little was called Ranger Rick. She had no clue how to do that online.

So I searched for ranger Rick and the first thing we see is a couple having sex😳. I quickly back out thinking I did something wrong. I tried it again and the same thing happened. So then I searched and found out that it’s called something different. My friend died shortly afterwards and I laugh when I think about how shocked we were by what happened.

Our senior friends will get a citrus box from a Florida grower we have had very good experiences with. Local friends are in for homemade red and green hot sauces and Jalapeno Peanut Brittle. SO's Hallmark airplane ornament is on the mantle. Europe will get real nice cards as postage is simply ridiculous.
