Do you put syrup on your pancakes?

Yes, in a mixture. I put appx 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, a pat of butter and a dash of real maple syrup all together in a mug, nuke it a couple of mins, mush it all together with a fork and pour it on the pancakes. Yum.

When I make "corn cakes", no syrup, just butter. But regular pancakes? Pour it on!
We have oatmeal a couple times a week
My lady will whip up oatmeal pancakes the following morning from what's left over
Of course syrup

One word for syrup
Mapleine

Those fluffy tasteless things they make ain't pancakes

Only my gramma knew pancakes
Thin, burnt at the edges
(She was camp cook for many a logging outfit)

Noooooo! My husband drowns his pancakes in the stuff. It’s far too sickly sweet for me.
I prefer butter and maybe berries in the pancakes. ( whatever’s in season )

What Ken said!

I remember we used to have Vermont syrup in the house. It's been decades since I had that!
@jujube Are corn cakes what James Brown called "hoe cakes"?
Hoe cakes were originally corn pone cakes (the simplest form of corn bread consisting of just cornmeal and water) baked on the blade of a hoe over a fire. I'm sure later they came to mean other things.

My corn cakes are just pancake batter with whole kernel corn mixed in.
