Do you read labels?

Every time I either go to the doctor or I see some health report on food they talk about that most people don't read labels.
#1 Do you read labels?
#2 Do you understand them?
#3 Do you believe most people don't read them because it takes too much time?

Since I'm asking these questions, I'll just say that I only read them once in a while.
Especially, for the sodium contents.
I have a high blood pressure situation that I need to keep under control.
With medicine and reading the sodium content and not using a salt shaker for anything I succeeded.

Now what about anyone else? What do you say?

Yes, I read labels. I don't eat meat so I check the ingredients of everything. Many desserts contain gelatine, so I avoid those. I also check calories.

Yes I read labels because it's important when you have diabetes. You must look at the carbs. I read it for weight control purposes too. I understand what they say and am glad I do.

So do I, except for candy, cakes, and other junk food I shouldn't be eating at all. Guess I don't want to know...
I read those too!

I try to tell myself that my relationship with some of my trigger foods has changed, but it's simply not true and probably never will be.

Some things I only eat when I'm away from home or bring home in single servings as a rare treat.

Trust me, it ain't easy bein' the fat kid!

I always read labels. Apart from the numbers (calories, sodium, protein etc) I also look at the listed ingredients. If that list is too long I put it back, even if the numbers check out. The more listed ingredients, the more processing.

I can’t afford to shop exclusively at the health food store where the prices are very inflated. If I could that’s the only place I’d get my food from, though there’s a degree of processing in the food they sell even there. It’s definitely cleaner though.

Yes, I read the labels. For a while now I react badly - due to food intolerance - to dairy and preservatives.

This is what happens to me as well Gary 'O', the migraines are dreadful. I get them just across the top of my eyebrows.

Yes, always. I eat a ketogenic diet and read labels meticulously. The good thing is I've been doing this for years, so I already know what is and is not loaded with carbs. I always verify any new items I consider.

Do you read labels? I read coded labels.
