they didn't fall off the planet, there's hardly a week goes by but there's mention of that strange family.... especially the drug taking mother who abandoned her kids...

Do you remember the case a few years back of Gypsy Rose and Dee Dee Blanchard? Dee Dee had Munchausen by Proxy, and was "creating" illnesses for Gypsy that she did not have. Like siesures, Muscular Dystrophy, teeth and eye problems. etc. Even had Gypsy believing she was ill.
Gypsy realized the truth, and coerced her boyfriend to kill Dee Dee. Both are in Prison, Gypsy due for release next year.
