Do you remember the first time you saw "The Wizard Of Oz"?

Don't remember my age but it was at home in front of our first big color TV. I have pretty much watched it ever year since. I have had a break these last few years since my husband passed. Can;t bring myself to watch it. The other movie is "It's a Wonderful Life". That was our Christmas movie.

We had a whole table top set up of Bedford Falls. All the buildings, my husband always insisted that he put the snow down so it would be just right.

Back to the wizard of Oz. My husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I had gone to the pet store to get food for my mother's dog. It was an adoption day, there was a little terrier, they called ToTo, he was so sweet. I went home alone, called my sister and she said that is your dog. She came, picked me up and that little dog came home with me. I had to take himfrom the lap of someone else. He became OZ, the little dog that saved us.

MY husband was mad, how dare I adopt a dog. This was on a weekend. Monday, I went to work, came home to fix the hubs some lunch. Thought that little dog was going to tear my throat out. He was right beside my husband through all the chemo, surgeries, days in bed ill. The dog would come to me when he was worn out and sleep with me. I could not sleep with the hubby with all the medical stuff in the room. I called them the Stud and his bud.

Many times when the husband was quite out of his mind during treatment he only wanted to know where OZ was. The dog stayed with my sister during these times. They got just as attached to this little orphan do.

So, I say to all, you have no idea the amount of comfort a little dog or cat can give to a person in a time of need. These loving creatures know what is happening and want to help!!

True, I am a widow now and I have lost my dear OZ but I have 3 other dogs that look after me. I could not do without them.

Oh, yes! The witches feet curling up under the house haunted me for years but I loved, loved, loved it!
That seen, and the bad witch's face gave me nightmares, lol. I first saw it on T.V when I was about six, and we all wished that we had a color television for when it went into color.
