Do you shop online at Walmart.com?

If so, do they have a choice of who we want to deliver our packages other than Fedex? I'm asking because I have to order my groceries monthly online and I've been using Walmart for some time and it has been fine until this month. But, yesterday Fedex left one of my boxes out at the highway propped against my mailbox facing the highway for anyone to steal or for it to be rained on. My house is too far from my mailbox to see it. I'm still waiting on one box that has been supposedly "out for delivery" in a town south of here since last Wednesday if I check it on the Walmart site. But, if I track it on the Fedex site, it says Pending, No schedule delivery date is set. This box has my canned food, etc. in it. I don't want anything delivered again by Fedex if I can help it. Is there a way to order from Walmart and avoid Fedex? If so, what is it? If I could go get my groceries, I would rather than ordering but this is my only choice. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to say so.

Good question, AprilSun. I also do not know how to get anything delivered (by any of the delivery services)
to an apartment door, rather than to the building lobby, which is used by too many passers-by.

I do not use Walmart. I tried to find out who handles the deliveries but, the employees could not tell me who the shipper is. I wanted to do pick up recently but, you pick up where they tell you to pick up. Not necessarily where you are. I am not driving out of town for something I could walk into the local store and get off the shelf. I will wait it out.

Call your local FedEx Terminal, it could be your driver has the route every day.

The more services that Walmart wants to throw at us, the more problems seem to occur.

This week they are supposed to be starting a yearly membership service for $98 ... What it's for, I have no idea, but they want to do whatever Amazon does.

I searched for a local FedEx Terminal and the one that is the closest, listed an 800 number. I have been reading the Fedex Complaints and so many people are talking about calling the Fedex 800 number and being on hold for at least an hour or more. It's not worth waiting this long on hold and I'm getting to the point that I hope I don't get this last package. I just won't be ordering from Walmart ever again if I have to deal with Fedex. But, thank you for your suggestion.

What concerns me is the food items I ordered sitting in a hot delivery truck since Wednesday. One of them is canned salmon and that really concerns me.

When I want things from Walmart I drive to one of their stores. I purchase things online when I can’t find them in a store or when they are far cheaper and easier to get .

I hope your canned salmon is ok. it probably is.

Yes, but when we order groceries we choose a time and day for delivery, and they are delivered by the supermarket. It sounds as though in America, groceries are treated in the same way as any other on-line delivery.
It does...weird.i have an Iceland delivery tomorrow.Reckon it would melt in the States :D

There is a place on the order/pickup website for you to chose which Walmart you want your stuff delivered to.

It is FedEx drivers who are not doing their job. I use both Walmart and Amazon. Sometimes my intercom will buzz and it will be FedEx with a delivery and I open the lobby doors for him and he comes upstairs right to my door. Other times FedEx will send me an email that my package was delivered and I go I downstairs and it is outside the lobby doors under the intercoms. It is difficult sometimes to get a heavy package onto my walker to bring upstairs. Of course the packages from the post office always are put on top of the mailboxes inside next to the elevators. I like that much better.

I thought about contacting Walmart and if I don't get it today, I will!!

I heard this on the news this morning and to me, it is funny!!!! Walmart is starting a Walmart Plus same day delivery service next week to compete with Amazon's Prime. But, you have to have a $35 order or more before you can use it. With Amazon Prime, you don't need a $35 order to use it or at least that's what they said. I don't know because I don't have Amazon Prime yet. I've got news for them. If Fedex delivers, I wouldn't trust it and I don't want it and I bet there are a lot more that feels the same way!

I don't know how well canned food keeps in storage in hot weather. The town it is supposedly at sitting in a delivery truck is south of here and it is not cool here.

It may be hot but it takes quite a bit if heat to significantly heat up stuff in a can to the point of it going bad. It’s not opened after all. If you open the can and it smells off in the least, I’d call Walmart directly and let them know. Take pictures of the can and all the necessary documents and show them the problem. I’m sure they will give you a prompt refund. Walmart’s good like that.

My problem with that will be I have allergies and I'm not able to smell so that wouldn't work. But, I do have a cat that can smell and she loves salmon. So, if she doesn't come in my kitchen and beg for it, that will make me suspicious because she always begs for it when I'm having salmon. And yes, I do let her have some because I don't have the heart to turn her down when it doesn't hurt her. Thank you for your help!

Call FedEx. Walmart can't control the drivers. Companies like that have a contract with carriers in order to keep costs down, more than likely they'll be unable to swap because of unsatisfactory service.

Call FedEx, tell them the situation, and ask them to speak with the driver.

[/QUOTE]Losing the sense of smell drives me batty. It throws me right off balance. I can relate to the allergy thing.

I’ve got a cat too who gets spoiled also so can relate. She loves salmon , turkey and temptations. 🐈

FedEx and USPS lost their contract, with Amazon, when Amazon started Prime deliveries. Some third party shippers use FedEx USPS and UPS when they ship items bought on Amazon.

If I could talk with a real person, I wouldn't mind at all calling Fedex but from what I've been reading of the Fedex complaints you're just put on hold and this is recent complaints of the same problem with them.

I called Walmart last week about the package that was left at my mailbox on the highway that I can't see from my house and they supposedly sent a message to Fedex but if they really did, who knows. I will give it a try because they didn't put me on hold. It may not work but it will be worth a try. The local Fedex in this area have the main Fedex 800 number listed to call them.
