If I could talk with a real person, I wouldn't mind at all calling Fedex but from what I've been reading of the Fedex complaints you're just put on hold and this is recent complaints of the same problem with them.

I called Walmart last week about the package that was left at my mailbox on the highway that I can't see from my house and they supposedly sent a message to Fedex but if they really did, who knows. I will give it a try because they didn't put me on hold. It may not work but it will be work a try. The local Fedex in this area have the main Fedex 800 number listed to call them.
They're all the same, doesn't matter who you're calling. Turn on the TV and find a show, make the call, put the phone on speaker, and wait. You will eventually get through. Also, try pushing '0' and see if it transfers you. Sometimes it will. I had some good luck with Fed Ex finding something that had been mislaid about 3 months ago. They stayed on it and called me every couple of days to keep me updated.

If you call, write down the menu options you need to make the next call easier. Such as, "for English, press 1. For questions on a shipment, press 4. Write down the sequence, 1, 4, x, x, etc.

I don't live on a nicely paved street. It's a country lane, which is more hole than road. The commercial carriers have no problem driving up and down it. But the US Postal Service has these delicate trucks, and the poor dears can't navigate it. So, I have to go to the Post Office to get my packages. There is a Post Office 3 miles from me, but , of course, my packages can't be picked up there. I have to drive 13 miles away to another Post Office. Quite honestly, using the Post Office is a pain in the butt.

In my area, our Walmarts are not super-walmarts in that they don't carry much grocery. They just have basics like milk, bread, frozen things and canned goods. Not really meant for a full grocery shop, so I don't order from there.

I have ordered other things once or twice, but recently it's almost impossible. How our Walmart expects to compete with Amazon in my area is a mystery. They'll have one item available for delivery and the others that are "in store only" or out of stock.

I decided not to wait any longer. I called Walmart and they put me on hold and called Fedex. Fedex is checking to see "what is going on" and they will contact me. Walmart told me to call them back if I don't hear anything or receive my package in 72 hours, and they will give me more options. So, the waiting game continues. I just felt like calling Fedex should be a last resort because I didn't order anything from Fedex and I should let Walmart know about issues like this. But thank you everyone for your suggestions and your support!

I was going to suggest the same thing. You'll probably get a better response and action from Walmart faster than from FedEx.

Oh, I did and their hold time was nothing. I just punched which department I needed and they answered promptly! They contacted Fedex and they are investigating. I am to call Walmart back in 72 hours if I don't hear from Fedex or receive my package.

Like RadishRose, most of our Walmarts are what she has described. There are a few Super Walmarts, but they are few and far between and I've never even seen one. I have ordered from my local Shop Rite Supermarket, Wegman's and Whole Foods. Everything arrives just fine.

Same here, Lewkat; Shop Rite and Whole Foods but no Wegman's. Aldi will do in pinch as well.

I forgot to tell you that I did the search again and it still listed the Fedex 800 number. There was not a local number listed to call them. But, thank you anyway!

I finally received this package today. This is after Walmart gave me a credit this past Thursday. They had told me it was either lost or damaged. They asked me if I wanted a replacement or a credit. I asked them who would deliver it and they said FedEx. That's when I told them I was through with FedEx and explained how they had left the other package at my mailbox on the highway for anyone to steal, it could fall into the road or it could have rained and gotten wet. She said she would report that to the manager and gave me a credit. Then it comes today.

Yes, Walmart online has my favorite coffee beans for a great price. And I can't believe how fast they get here - in 1 or 2 days free shipping for $35.00 minimum.

True story.....I did not bother getting my packages one day because they are usually put on my back porch. Next day more was delivered. UPS man must have wondered why I did not touch the boxes from previous day because within an hour the police were here doing a 'well-check' on me. oops? But gotta love that UPS man!!
