Do you still have Trick or Treaters where you live?

I remember being 5, wearing a mask you really couldn't see out of, and holding out my orange plastic pumpkin, so people could fill it with candy. I just couldn't believe it, people just gave me candy. Then came the razor blades, etc. Since i moved into this development 30 years ago, nobody has come "T&T" ing. Some places have designated safe T&T homes. Do you still have Trick or Treaters where you live?
Yeah it's sad what Halloween has turned into. I can remember years and years ago when the dangers first started I took the kids to the hospital to have their candy x-rayed...we stopped going shortly thereafter...

The wife and I no longer participate in the festivities. We curl up and watch a movie instead. No longer have little ones and I got frustrated with trick or treaters from outside our neighborhood being driven to our neighborhood for the free treats. Don...

We've never had trick or treaters out here. When we were kids, we were smart enough to know that if we came across a house that was dark, it was an indication that they weren't participating in handing out treats. No sign was needed.

No. Thank goodness no.

At our old place of 35 years or so we had lots of kids at the door. We moved to our present town an hour further North back in May and it's a much older demographic. I really hope we get a good number of knocks at the door or we'll be forced to eat all this chocolate ourselves. Tragic!

Kids don't do trick or treat in this area, properties are spread out and pretty much everyone's gates are locked, and yards full of dogs is common.
Instead, kids get to make rounds to participating businesses in town for the Halloween celebration.

I live in a rather large gated community. We have both a senior section for those over 55 and then a family section. The kids still make their way up to us and stop at the homes with porch lights on. Two years ago, COVID, we had about 20 kids, last year it was much better at about 45 and so this year, I expect maybe about 50-60. Some of the neighbors put a table outside with a sign on the table that reads "Help Yourself." I like looking at the kids costumes, especially if they are homemade. The guy at the end of our block has a social gathering setup on the back of his home in his enclosed patio with drinks, cheeses, pretzels and crackers for the adults while the kids make their way through the senior section. I guess the parents feel safe allowing their kids to go unaccompanied through the senior section. So they get a treat and the the kids get a treat. Of course there is always someone that complains about it. We are having an official "treat checker" this year. There will be a large table setup and each kid, if he or she chooses can have their goodies checked by a couple of off duty cops the community hired to check the goodies for disguised amphetamines' and barbiturates, along with Fentanyl. I thought that was a good idea.
