Do you still have your uniform?

I can't say what happened to my Navy uniform. Come on, that was 50+ years ago. The only thing I have is a duffle bag, and it's not mine. Somehow a buddy and I switched bags. One thing I do know, I got rid of the "dixie cup" hat about 6 seconds of getting out of the Navy. I hate wearing a hat. and I detested that one.
Do you still have your uniform? And if you do, would you donate it to a historical assn.?

My dress uniform has been cleaned and boxed and sealed like they do with wedding gowns, which will be displayed at my service and then turned over to my niece. I am being cremated, so I will eventually end up in Arlington.

I kept my dress coat when I retired and gave most of my BDU's (both green and Desert) to my sons
as camping clothes and such.
Also kept my extreme cold weather parka and the Desert cold weather jacket since I knew I was heading
to Nebraska and they might come in handy.

I gave my dress blues & whites to a good friend that transferred to San Diego a little before I did. Everything else I don't remember what I did with it.

I still have my O-5 Naval Officer dress blue uniform, ribbons, metals and hat. I will probably be "planted" wearing that uniform. I gave my sword to a young Naval officer last year.

I held on to a set of enlisted crackerjacks for a long time and my khaki Chief Petty Officer uniform for a long time before giving them to a theater group. I came across my Warrant Officer (W-1) hat last year and left it in the attic for now.

Still have my Army dress blues, Class A greens and two sets of fatigues. Twenty + years retired now. Pull them out of storage bags now and again a give 'em some daylight. Thinking one of these first days to have my last operational patch sewn on instead of the garrison patch of my last posting. Still have all the command patches and unit crests from units served. Even the 'camel tongue' from Saudi when deployed there mid-90s.

My Air Force blues from the '60s are long gone. Not sure whatever happened there. The enlisted USAF insignia and - can you believe it - the web belt buckle I still have. Stainless steel. Original issue 1961.

I don't think any historical assn would have use for my uniforms. However, my mother kept all the letters I mailed from USAF basic in 1961. Those might make an interesting display and read for historians? Complete with envelopes and air mail stamps from the era. Have to check into that.

Kept a set of whites and blues after my discharge from the USCG in 1956. Later passed them on to my son when he was grown, along with my dad's First WW khaki's.

My son spent a career in the USAF so I supposed his blues were added to the mix. Ironically, he has 5 sons, none of whom joined the military.

I threw out everything but my fatigue shirts and field jacket and wore them until they were falling apart so they're gone too. Dog tags are in a drawer.

I only kept my dress uniform. it's hanging in a garment bag. On his last visit down here, my son was going through some old stuff in a closet I built in the utility room and saw it hanging and asked what I intended to do with it. I told him I didn't know. He said that he would hang it for show at the church service when I die.

Did keep my field jacket, monogrammed ball caps (2). The dress blues, ties, shoes were packed into duffel bag & carted to our local donation bin. Never looked back.
4 years was enough.

I have two dress uniforms. One from when I served on active duty and the second when I left the Reserves. My wife wanted me to be dressed in my Marine dressed uniform, but I was to be discharged before the wedding, which extremely disappointed her. To keep her happy, the only way around it was to join the reserves, which wasn’t as easy as you may think. I was fine with doing that because I was a little hesitant about leaving the Marines. I was lucky that I did it before my discharge came through.

I didn’t need to buy a whole new dress uniform. I just needed to buy a new coat.

I wrote nope, but then I realized that's not quite correct. I still have a lot of baggage left over from my time in the Army... just not a uniform. :( (Wait... truth is, it was the wife who pointed that out).

I am a captain in Civil Air Patrol (ret). I donated my Class A uniform to the squadron for someone else to use. I kept my Nomex flight suit in case of emergency because we are in a fire area.
