I keep a couple wooden sleeve boards and couple wooden ironing boards and a tabletop one in the house. I iron something every once in a while. Usually a scarf or some vintage clothing. Sometimes a doily or a tablecloth etc. I do have a collection of sad irons but
I dont use them to iron. Also have a few wooden ones in the barn to paint for future crafts. And I keep an iron in the barn for crafts and veneer.
I remember back in the day everything had to be ironed. Mom started me ironing sheets and dish towels and bras and underwear.
I remember that back in the 70's when I was first married everything had to be ironed. I was so glad when permanent press came out.
I did not miss ironing the husbands shirts aka bedsheets with sleeves. When I still worked I always ironed what I planned on wearing that morning. Now I just toss everything in the dryer. Every so often I will get nostalgic and iron a collar.
