I like to take my cues from wildlife, they have not been brainwashed by culture or books or anything else, they just do what feels good. MOST wildlife take naps, especially after lunch at midday. And most long-lived centenarians like to take naps. So, I strongly believe that naps are healthy for the body, which usually tends to slow down at mid-day anyway. I couldn't take naps while I had a job but after I retired I got into the habit of having lunch while watching TV, then I feel drowsy and fall asleep in my recliner. My only problem is that I wish I only slept 1/2 hour or so, instead I sleep at least 2 hours and sometimes 4 hours if I had little nighttime sleep. Then I feel like I'm wasting my life sleeping. Then I'm usually in bed by 11pm and wake up about 7-8am without an alarm clock.
