Do You Text Using Your Thumbs?

It’s amazing to watch those young thumbs fly across that tiny screen keyboard. Partly, I think they count on autocorrect and read the screen as they go. Good grammar and spelling are often missing too, though I do the same with my old thumbs.

Now that i've stopped laughing, because even my fingers to big for the onscreen keyboards, no i don't.

Recently, i dropped my old phone in a parking lot and the screen died entirely. In line with the usual kind of luck i have the alarm feature still worked that night when almost time to pick up DD but since i couldn't see screen to dismiss it i ended up having to remove the battery. Meantime i bought another phone (luckily i was in city for eyeglass annual visit when other one died).

It is a flip style, with telephone like keys. So i'll have an excuse for not sending any long texts. When i think about much i had to redo and correct using stylus on old one it is really not that much longer a process --tho the auto fill is a nuisance, i'd see if i could turn off, but supposedly after a while it is supposed to start autofilling with words the user most often uses. Since most frequent text is to let DD know whether there was mail for motel or not, and confirming medical appts. That could be helpful.

DD does use her thumbs and she's fast, but being a millennial that's to be expected.

While with a keyboard, have always had strong fast typing skills. Dislike texting with smartphones unless text is short so avoid doing such until I can use my laptop. So no to that error prone crippled language thumb style. Have a stylus pen in vehicle when on road. Before smartphones, as an old Windows command prompt text user from earliest days, was also never a fan of touch screens.
