Do you think homes are getting way too big?

All those you mentioned and especially this one. Saying these things and debating whether they can afford it.
And they usually buy the house they complained the most about. Of course, it's all fake. To be on the show, you have to have already bought a house or at least have one under contract. The other two houses are just ones they've "borrowed" for the show.

I was watching one episode and one of the houses they were showing was across the street from my sister's house. I had actually been there for a Halloween party. I immediately called her and asked if it was up for sale. She said, "Not at all, it was just used for the show."

I'm still nosy enough to enjoy the show and get to see people's houses...LOL.

No kidding! I play HGTV bingo in my mind: "That bathroom isn't giving me the spa experience I wanted". "But I wanted at least a 12-foot island in the kitchen!" "The kids would have to share the bathroom with any guests."
I remember back in the 90s when more and more people started buying those McMansions where every bedroom had its own bathroom and I read an article about how physical education teachers at high (secondary) schools were complaining about kids who freaked out and refused to when they found out they had to take showers with other students after phys. ed. classes, they were used to having their very own bathroom at home and were horrified at the thought.

No kidding! When you have only one bathroom for eight people, there's no such thing as "privacy". Someone's in there brushing their teeth or putting acne cream on or, heaven forbid, using the toilet.
