Greatest opening riff of all time?? :eek: I agree. Listening to rock music does make me feel young. LoL. Put on some Zeppelin, Deep Purple, The Who and I'm in high School again.

Just the other night, I'm sitting on the couch with my headphones on (an excellent pair from Bowers & Wilkins), listening to a great live version of Dire Straits' "Sultans of Swing", and I had to turn it up. Or for a more modern group, the very excellent Mumford & Sons doing a live show, it just makes me feel young and alive. But then the other night my wife briefly switched on the MTV Video Music awards and they had Nicki Manaj and Ariana Grande doing some number and I felt really "old", saying to myself "this is music?"

On my way to 74 with one hip replacement, more osteoarthritis in both shoulders and right knee. Of course I'm an old woman but I still manage a positive outlook, can find things to laugh at and have connections to other people - family, friends and internet buddies.

I can remember events that happened before the young were even born and have developed a modicum of wisdom based on experience. I no longer sweat the small stuff because there isn't enough time left to waste it. In that light, I'm not so much old as timeless.

This is to debbie in seattle an others;
My ex girlfriend would get unbelievably angry if some one called her "Maam". I don't know why. All I know is if you want to get on the losing side of a fight, call a Black person the "N' word; OR call a female the "Maam" word.

Physically sometimes I feel old but I'm always wondering if my mom felt like this at my age. I don't feel like whatever 57 is supposed to feel like. I look in the mirror and don't always know who the woman is looking back at me. It seems like a spend alot of time thinking about my age but then, I live alone, can't find a job and all my friends live in other states so I have lots of time to think, lol.

When I go to the MDs, it's large complex with lots of MDs and staff. I'm standing there with gray hair, a back brace, leaning on my cane. And I see all those other people with gray hair, with back braces and using canes. All I can think of is how old they look.
