Do you think "some issues"...

I was sitting here reading the posts. My issue is trivial compared to many others. It has to do with landscaping.

I converted most of my grass lawn to desert landscape. Many years back I removed the sprinkler system, dug up the dried grass, used black plastic sheeting, covered that with small size Arizona river stone. Should be weed free, but noooo somehow weeds manage to pop up. Thankfully there is Round Up weed killer .

I found Risperadon to be a huge help with my overwhelming anxiety @MACKTEXAS
I'm shocked at how much it helped me at an incredibly small dose. Could you research it or ask your doctor? panic/anxiety is hell
I know, I'm replying to an old post you wrote. Again, thanks for the suggestion. I saw the doctor today, and he said no to Risperidone without explanation, and wrote RX for 30 Clonazepam, saying to take only when anxiety was particularly bothersome; not every day.

Thanks for the update! Many people are helped by clonazepam. I wasn't one of them, but hopefully you will be! Your doctor is taking a conservative approach, like most seem to do, at least at first. Good luck (((Mack))).

Yes, I've had issues. Everyone does. Some get better, some get worse. When we grieve a loss, the hurt we feel usually gets better for most of us over time. That's an example of the better. But I suffer from anxiety, which is no secret to people who have seen my other posts, and have not been able to overcome it. That's an example of the worse. We just do the best we can and keep going.
Anxiety disorder and clinical depression here. I fight with the anxiety every single day. Sorry that you are also a sufferer.

It depends on what the issue is. Medical issues can be resolved or stabilized in the hands of a competent doctor. Family issues – well…that depends on how much the family members want to work together to solve an ongoing issue….in many cases (mine) I just moved on with my life. Other general issues can usually be solved.

Yes, some issues do get better. I had very low self-esteem when I was growing up, partially due to my mother's low self-esteem and partially due to being gay. My feelings were hurt very easily and I was devastated if someone didn't like me. I learned over the years that not everyone is going to like me and I was the sole person who could ensure my success.

Now I could give a s*** who likes me. I like myself. That's all that counts.

Like so many others here, I also suffered from anxiety and depression. I do take Lexapro for depression but it has mostly been Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that has helped my mind put myself in various stressful situations and realize they actually won't be that bad. I've spoken in public to as many as 5000 people at conferences in my past career so it was either "get over it" or sacrifice my career. I chose to get over it.

Age has its benefits as well as its downsides.

nice presentation too!!

I've been on an antidepressant--Venlaflaxane--for 20-plus years. It definitely helps my anxiety, but I've tried to go off it, very slowly, and always get to a point that life feels unbearable. And all my old s**t comes flooding back.

Some issues, OTOH, have gotten much better with time.

I’ve got Clonazepam. It’s a really good drug for panic disorder and general anxiety. I take them when needed. At the moment it’s not often but when I DO get filled with anxiety and panic, they work really well.
