I don't know if I believed in Old Souls when I was younger, but the older I get, the more I do.
Some people are just as shallow as saucers. Call them newer souls, if you will. My ex-spouse is that way. Just as shallow as a saucer. He loves his Earthly pleasures more than anything. Many famous people I DO NOT LIKE are shallow as can be - like permanent teenagers, usually trying to run some portion of the world. They have money and power but lack all true wisdom.
I don't know where I am in the soul-aging conundrum, but I definitely think we could look at some famous people from history and easily label them Old Souls. Abe Lincoln is one. So was Maya Angelou.
Second part of the question: Do you think New Souls are attracted to Older Souls because they are searching for something they lack, or they want to take what the Older Souls have? My answer is yes, I think that happens a lot.
