Do you think that this forum is populated by old souls?

I don't know if I believed in Old Souls when I was younger, but the older I get, the more I do.

Some people are just as shallow as saucers. Call them newer souls, if you will. My ex-spouse is that way. Just as shallow as a saucer. He loves his Earthly pleasures more than anything. Many famous people I DO NOT LIKE are shallow as can be - like permanent teenagers, usually trying to run some portion of the world. They have money and power but lack all true wisdom.

I don't know where I am in the soul-aging conundrum, but I definitely think we could look at some famous people from history and easily label them Old Souls. Abe Lincoln is one. So was Maya Angelou.

Second part of the question: Do you think New Souls are attracted to Older Souls because they are searching for something they lack, or they want to take what the Older Souls have? My answer is yes, I think that happens a lot.

I have always understood "old soul" to mean someone (usually a child or youth) who is wise beyond their years... never anything about reincarnation. So... I guess although I've never thought of it, the term wouldn't really apply to seniors because .... what? A 60 year old would have the wisdom of a 75 year old? Nah, it doesn't work for older people.

I've also heard the term used with someone who's seen more than anyone should ever have to see... often about combat veterans.
I don't think little kids necessarily have to be wise beyond their years, but I think if they demonstrate more empathy at a young age than is common in most kids their age, or if they are able to stand out as individuals in some way and not care so much about what their immediate peers think, these might be signs of Old Soulness.

But, what does it matter really? Whoever they are, all children need support from caregivers to reach their potential and need positive feedback to see what they have to offer the world.

Probably one of the most HURTFUL things you can do to an Old Soul, is ignore them. Ignore their warnings and advisories. They have been here before and seen all the foibles and follies of man - why ignore that? It's like when Jesus Christ was weeping over Jerusalem. He could see what was coming ahead for the city (the destruction of the ancient temple) and they all ignored him.

I do understand what an old soul is supposed to be metaphysically speaking but I don't consider myself an old anything. It goes against the grain. There's a lot of child in me still however mature and sober I may need to be at any given moment. A part of me will always want to giggle.

We push ourselves. Far better to drop on a golf course than to lie bed ridden. Well that’s what we do. The battle to keep in shape. Haha. Tired doesn’t count. Sleeping well happens when we exhaust ourselves. Sure, it’s easy to baby big baby,

Nice photo Chic!

I for one absolutely believe in reincarnation. There's too much evidence, even scientifically obtained thru rigorous means, e.g., Dr. Ian Stevenson's work, and others, that makes it difficult for me to believe otherwise. Baby souls, young souls, and old souls. We're a big mix on this planet, each of us born with previously learned experiences--from the occasional child prodigy who can play Beethoven on the piano at 6, to those souls that are just starting out. Just my opinion though.
