Do you think there's a pro-Ukrainain bias in news of the War?

No, it was you who "mentioned it". You said (and I responded to) "I think that the media in general are going to be sympathetic to the victims of ruthless aggression", but here you are talking to me about "mere propaganda" and accusing me of using it just because I disagree with you. You've made a big mistake but it's not your fault because I set the trap and you fell into it. The bottom line is that you are a victim of your own propaganda but you haven't figured it out yet. Do you want to know more? I'm ready if you think you can take it. :giggle:
Lol! You talk a lot of talk without saying anything, and you think that your efforts to weasel out and back-peddle are invisible. Please, we're all big boys and girls here.
So, here's you're big chance: you made a statement that [you said] disagreed with mine, that's fine. Can you substantiate what you said, with at least some citation, as I requested?

How freaking old are you? I haven't heard things like this since I was in elementary school. "I set a trap and you fell into it" usually followed with fingers waving in ears with "nah nah nah." Are you one of our resident trolls? Do you think the stories of Russians (many MANY stories) raping little Ukrainian girls are propaganda, too? Just curious.

I have intentionally said little just to flush you out. That's the trap. I like to give people enough rope.

You rely too much on "citations" and not enough on first-hand information from the source, the real source. In short, yours is written up with doted "i"s and crossed "t"s for your consumption. Your source is prepared propaganda, mine isn't. How many people do you have on the ground? None?

Oh Kate, pleeeeease.

No, this means that I don't want to see a respected fellow forum member go down a rabbit hole.
Why must you do this?
Just call me Bugs. And I probably haven't been here long enough to earn anyone's respect. And why do I do this? I'm not sure what "this" refers to, but if it's questioning statements that make no sense or are obviously bait, I do it because my number one pet peeve is injustice of any kind. I figure if you're going to sit here and bad-mouth Ukraine and/or sing the praises of Russia, it shouldn't bother you to answer my question about the rapes (which is a war crime, you may realize). There is documentation of Russian soldiers bragging about doing it to demoralize Ukraine, so "it's not true" isn't going to cut it.

Oooops, I had the actual war crime wording pasted here, but the forum ***'d out certain words, so you can maybe research it.

You've really derailed yourself now with several really absurd conclusions that were never part of anything I said or stated. But in the words of someone I do respect, "That's okay, I wasn't really expecting a sensible response."

I just have to smile but shake my head. It's surprising that you are not aware of how simpleminded & boastful you sound.

I've been inviting you to share your "first-hand information from the source, the real source". But, it seems that you have no actual source, because if you did you'd have proudly presented it by now.

I have none, no shame in that since I'm over 6,000 miles away. How many people do YOU have on the ground?

There was a group of Ukrainians that my grandma called the Cossacks, or White Russians. They were awful horrible people involved in the Jewish genocides called pogroms. They did their own bidding and that of the Czars. They still live there, they still exist. Just like some white folks here can't forget the Civil War, these new Cossacks yearn to relive their golden years.

I don't have to go to Ukraine. I don't have to go to Russia. They came to me and I know a lot. Almost everyone I know is native Ukrainian or Russian. I repeat, almost everyone.

There is bias and band wagon jumping as with a lot of news. On one hand they should try to cover the news the public wants but they shouldn't slant the news for them.

I'm so happy you asked me that question. My father-in-law is a retired border officer from the Vyšné Nemecké crossing between Ukraine and Slovakia. This is the main crossing from Ukraine to eastern Slovakia on the road from Uzhhorod toward Košice. I've been through that crossing myself, albeit some years ago. My father-in-law is deceased now but my in-laws have their ear-to-ground particularly since this business today. BTW, my in-laws are Slovaks and they own no dog in the conflict so what they hear every day is from the Ukrainies themselves at the border and at the gathering points in Košice where my wife is from and where her family lives still today. I really don't think your MSM, CIA-spun account of the situation is worth a fiddler's hangnail. Sorry if the crow tastes bitter but I'm just being honest here. :)

All true. The worst (it is said) of the extermination-minded Nazis were Ukrainians and they volunteered for just about every chance to murder Jews. As you say, "they still exist" .... in the form of the Azov Nazis in Ukraine today. They hold open meetings, rallies, and celebrations honouring men such as Stepan Bandera. There is actually a film documenting one of the Ukraini Nazi criminals who was found hiding in Cleveland, Ohio: John Demjanjuk - born Ivan Mykolaiovych Demjanjuk.
Net Flix:

I've been to both Ukraine and Russia. I wouldn't like to live in either of them but if I had to pick I'd especially stay away from Ukraine. It is a squalid & dilapidated nation of corruption, drunken men, and glue-sniffing children .... and that's not the citizen's fault nor the Russians' fault.

@Verisure There, now was that so hard to do? You said you had "truth" to tell, and all I wanted to see is for you to tell it.

I own no dog in the conflict either, and I have no MSM accounts of anything that is near and dear to my heart. And, I'm certainly sophisticated enough to understand that the CIA can spin slanted accounts about events, almost as good as the Служба внешней разведки Российской Федерации.

Interesting !
We have A LOT of Ukrainis in my town also and the problem is the same. They do not want to share with black and moslem people. Maybe even worse is their disrespect for even us white pensioners. In my country, we have clearly marked seats at the front of our city buses for older and handicapped people. I'm a pensioner myself and I can't really stand while the bus is underway. The Ukrainis however don't care. They take the seats that are for us older people and if we ask them to move they refuse! Once it was necessary for the bus driver to stop the bus and walk back to tell the Ukrini woman to get up and give me the seat! They are given special (for Ukrainis ONLY!) free transport, free medical, free dentistry, and yet THEY HAVE NO RESPECT for us. If we send them back tomorrow I'll be happy.

Here, in the West, the Russians are the bad guys, and the Ukrainians are the good guys. They're all these stories about poor underfed, undertrained, underclothed, underweaponised Russian troops losing every battle, and the plucky, wily Ukrainians winning them all. My question is how much of the coverage is biased, and plain wishful thinking? I saw an article by a US general in the 2nd Iraq War predict the outcome of the Ukraine War. Yeah, right. The press hailed the Iraq War as supposedly a textbook way to win a war till it blew up in everybody's face, and went south. So, which is it bias or truth?
Yep, the press with some help of a certain VP who predicted that Iraqi citizens would greet US soldiers with "sweets and flowers."

It's a definite bias to support Ukraine. I just don't trust western media. Case in point is for months they were saying that Russia is running out of ammunition. Then this week I was flabbergasted to hear the NATO chief announce that Europe is running low because Ukraine is burning through large quantities daily.

"NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg warned Monday that Ukraine is using up ammunition far faster than its allies can provide it and putting pressure on Western defense industries, just as Russia ramps up its military offensive. According to some estimates, Ukraine is firing up to 6,000-7,000 artillery shells each day, around a third of the daily amount that Russia is using almost one year into the war."
