Do you think we are "high maintenance" people?

My father was a young adult during the Great Depression, and as a student then going through college on a partial scholarship he put newspaper into his shoes when the soles wore through as there was no money to repair much less buy new ones. I have always been mindful of what he endured just to get an education, and grateful to have intact and functional items, without having to possess designer-label or upper end anything. I grew up in an age without air conditioning, dishwashers, color tv, etc. but now gratefully accept them, knowing that we are living better than the vast majority of people did in human history…

I looked up the definition of "high maintenance" and it said, "needs a lot of work to keep in good condition". Well, I do need to continually watch what I eat, make sure I walk everyday and I do like to dress fairly neatly but I wouldn't call myself "high" maintenance. I do look to help others that are not so fortunate and give things away if it is needed somewhere else. I will shop for a bargain at used stores like Value Village and the Thrift Store and I pass out money to those at traffic lights looking for a handout.

Blah no. People who have been the most problematic in my life have been high maintenance. Most people though are helpful and caring.
