Do you use a top sheet?

Yes, I use a top sheet. I usually pull it over my head to drown out noise and light. When I was visiting our headquarters in Miami I would sometimes stay at the Sofitel, which is a French brand. I would always have to go down to the front desk to ask for a top sheet.
 

I have a Coleman Outdoor & Indoor blanket. It has smooth top and soft liner, on top of a sheet over my gel bed. In winter I sleep under it, but otherwise I sleep on top. Always wear full pajamas unless I get hot in the summertime.

So we Americans usually sleep between both sheets, with either blankets or comforters or quilts on top. We then wash the two sheets and pillow cases once a week and the blanket/comforters/ quilts just a few times a year.

Yes seems a country difference thing.

Not sure what Mark's and Sparks is - but any basic chain store which sells bedding will sell duvets and duvet covers here.
Sold separately. And one can either buy sheets in sets or separately - don't buy a set if you don't want a top sheet
 
No top sheets. I put a light blanket on the bed during the summer, which can be washed often. In winter, I use a couple of blankets and a comforter, and a light one goes on the bottom. Again, it can be washed easily.

My dog, btw, got me started on this. I'd make the bed and he'd remove the bedding on days when he had nothing better to do. While I was remaking the bed, he'd bounce around on it. I know it's totally weird, but that was one of the things he did that I thought was funny. His antics and my sense of humor meshed perfectly.
 
I don’t use a top sheet. I’m a quilter and have more quilts than sheets. The quilts get washed once a week like the bottom sheet and pillow cases.

It’s so sad what people will argue about on the internet.
 
oh right - yes that was me - people did get really riled up there and call each other lazy, dirty etc just because they weren't doing same as themselves
