Do You Use K Cups For Your Morning Coffee Or Beverage?

I do because I live alone. It's more expensive per cup but it's clean/efficient and no left over waste,

No, I have a regular coffee pot, but it does have a one to four cup feature button. I have two cups in the morning and my husband has one, I never like the idea to stand there for each cup to brew, to me that's more of a hassle.

Yes, I use the K cups but not for breakfast, my coffee maker is a Hamilton Beach two in one maker, that I love, I have very limited counter space so this worked great. My favorite K cup flavor is Newman's Own Cafe Almond Biscotti.

We used to have a Keurig coffee maker, but it kept clogging up. The K cups are expensive... so we gave up and went back to a regular coffee pot.

I had 2 Keurigs, one full size and one mini. Both broke. I also began to worry about mold since I never could figure out how to completely clean the things. I also didn't like the price of those cups.

Article on Snopes regarding the mold:

http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/keurig.asp

ends with:

Nothing about Keurigs or any other food or beverage device makes them immune from day-to-day grime-collecting, and anything that dispenses consumable food or drink should be regularly examined for signs of grubbiness. Mold growth is not exclusive to the Keurig; and while the water reservoir is a larger cleaning chore, checking regularly will lessen mold and bacteria problems. As the quoted portion above suggested, visible mold in any coffeemaker is a strong signal it needs to be cleaned.

So, I went on to my latest coffee-making method.

This time, I got a cheap electric kettle that boils water as fast or faster than the Keurig. I pour it over coffee in a permanent filter that sits on top of a glass carafe; like the Melitta, but a different brand. So far, I'm satisfied with taste, speed and clean up.

I hated cleaning the percolator and the French press but I do think the press make slightly better coffee.

We use them at my daughter's and like them but they are expensive since we are big coffee drinkers. Also she opens up each little cup and puts the grounds in the compost container so it's quite a hassle. Then we have to rinse the little cups out and make sure they are in the recycle bin! We enjoy it when we house sit for her though. :)

Kids gave me a Keurig almost 3 years ago. Started out using the K-cups. Handy, but expensive. When they gave me the Keurig, they included one of the "baskets" for using regular ground coffee. Now, that's all I use. I buy coffee... DARK roast... and just fill my basket each morning. Certainly, dumping and cleaning the basket takes a couple more minutes than tossing a K-cup. I'll do that for the savings.
This past weekend, our son was home for a few days. Both daughters also spent time with us. With the number of coffee drinkers, I purchased a couple boxes of K-cups for the weekend. Now, back to my basket.

I just run plain water through a cheap coffee maker, keep it hot all morning, and pour it over instant Folgers whenever I want a cup, in a regular ceramic coffee cup.
Coffee is just coffee to me, but I do drink a lot of it---black.

Here is my Hamilton Beach Coffee Maker that uses the K cups...I think I gave $85 for it, much cheaper than the Keurig.... I read about all the problems with the Keurig......at the time I bought mine it was the only brand made that used the K cups and regular coffee.

No - I'm back to using a melitta cone and unbleached filters -- with organic coffee that I grind myself. Works for me, economical, and delicious.

We finally gave in and bought a mini. Yes, the K cups are expensive, BUT I now only drink one cup in the morning and I'm good. Husband drinks decaf, so works for us. I've made sure I clean the Keurig regularly and also clean the holes in the top. Tried making our own pods and our own ground coffee, but way too much work. Don't think we'd go back to a regular coffee pot.
