Do You Use Laundry Fabric Softeners?

2.) Dryer sheets for now. Using up my supply. Read somewhere that we shouldn't use any softeners, especially liquid. As some have shared, they may cause fabrics to be flammable and towels to be less absorbent. I might try one of those balls and stick with that.

Neither - I use wool dryer balls.

Neither. I don’t want added chemicals in my clothes. I use an alpaca ball - actually 3 balls.

None, I bought dryer rubber balls. They look like doggie toys but they work very well. 3 in the package made by Black and Decker.

I have read in many places that fabric softener on towels makes them less absorbent.

In the past, I used liquid, occasionally the sheets. I now use the wool dryer balls.

This is what is I do. 1/2 to 1/4 sheet.
Once I ran out of unscented liquid softener I didn't replace it. Now I'm using up the scented sheets and then I won't replace them. I may continue the unscented sheets only on clothes. I've never used any on towels and sheets, only wool dryer balls. It takes the absorbency out of towels, so I'm told.

How have you each liked using the balls? What do they do? Is there any special way to use them or care for them?

I put three in a small lingerie bag. They have enough room to move about yet stay together so I don’t have to search in sleeves for hidden balls at the end of the cycle. This prevents them from picking up fibres from some fabrics.

There’s no static and no chemicals.

The rubber balls bang about in the dryer.

I have always used fabric softener. I use about half of what they recommend.
Downy, my son did not like the smell so I switched to Downy Free n Gentle, then he stop complaining.
😜
I heard that dryer sheets are not good for the dryer. Something about something in them builds up in your dryer and affects the dryer parts.
I do not really know but I do not use them.
