Do you use paper napkins, paper towels or both in your home? Or maybe you use cloth napkins?

And if so, do you prefer they have a pattern printed on them or just plain will do?

Just so you know, I'm adding this thread more or less tongue in cheek as I don't really mind if you wipe your face off with your sleeve or even use toilet tissue as napkins. I just thought that I'd put something non-controversial out here so that we can all just play nice. How often do you do your laundry was my inspiration for this thread. I hope no one is offended by my asking but these days, one just never knows what might trigger someone else's sensibilities! We are a pretty big yet diverse group. It's tough to consider everyone's emotions sometimes. And any nationality, race, gender, creed, belief, sexual orientation or marital status is welcome to comment. (I hope I didn't leave anyone out but if I did, I'm sure someone will let me know.)

So @OneEyedDiva, I'm indebted to you! 😊

We use plain white paper napkins, as well as various printed paper napkins from past birthdays, etc.
I used to use fabric napkins when I entertained.
I hadn’t thought about using special party napkins but those and some plates can make an ordinary day feel special, I bet! Good idea, Ms Pinky, you deserve a prize! 🏆😉

I made a big stack of napkins (and dust cloths) out of Paxton's old receiving blankets. So our napkins have little bears or lambs or rattles or baby blue stripes on them.
Another wonderful idea! I’m glad that I asked this now. What started off in jest has turned most interesting! I sure didn’t see that coming! Thank you!

We use cloth napkins. I feel guilty if I produce waste when it's not absolutely necessary, so we don't use disposable napkins. The only problem is, it creates a lot of laundry and it's a disappointment when we eat out at a nice restaurant and they give us paper napkins when we're used to nice, soft napkins at home. Going out to a restaurant is supposed to be an elevated experience compared to eating at home, isn't it? Another reason to stay at home.

I use paper towels sparingly.

There's an Andy Griffith episode where the Darlings come to visit and they're all playing bluegrass music together. Someone suggests they play, "Cuttin' Up My Old Clothes for Rags," but they can't because Charlene says, "That one always makes me cry."

I think of that when ever I'm cutting up our old T-shirts for Swiffers.

(We use white paper napkins, Crispy, and I'm offended you would ask!)

We use both. I buy big packages of cheap white paper napkins from stores like Costco or Sam's Club, We use those if we're not eating anything messy. We also keep a roll of paper towels on the kitchen table for messier meals, like the charcoal grilled St. Louis ribs my husband made for the Superbowl.

No napkins. I use serviettes. JK, though I do that term about half the time.

A long time ago I bought a monster package of Kirkland. They’re hard. Sort of alternate them with the cloth ones. Probably 30 years ago my mother made 6 patterned and 6 with a Christmas theme. Nice memories and they wash really well.

Isn't this picture awful? Environmentally, I mean. OK, awful in general I mean. I thought colored toilet paper is a bad thing. Anyway, I use plain white Scott only toilet paper; any brand white paper napkins; and plain white Bounty only.

I'm just like you, white Scott TP only, and white paper napkins and white Full Sheet Bounty paper towels. I used to buy the cheaper ones, but these are so much better for everything, thicker, more absorbent and softer. My husband uses the Bounty for tissues, I use Puffs Plus with lotion.
