Do You Use The Internet To Shop For Groceries?

I have not used the grocers websites to shop then pick up my groceries but I have bought several items on websites mostly because they are not available in my local stores.

Groceries, not yet but just about everything else. Not sure I would trust some pimply faced teenager to pick out the best veggies and meats. Sometimes, especially during the off season here its an effort to find the freshest veggies in the pile.

I buy nonperishable groceries on the Internet and have been doing so for years. I'm too picky about meats and produce to buy sight unseen.

Every once in a great while, I'll order from my usual store online and pick it up. Only twice I think, have I had them delivered. They give me what I would choose myself or better- they train the clerks especially for the online shoppers.

It's a great help when I'm sick and my grandson isn't around.

Once, when Amazon Fresh began, I ordered from them. No complaints but I really only did it for the "first time" discount.

Nope... all our supermarkets do home deliveries..7 days a week from 7am to 10pm... but I have never once even when I was poorly and couldn't get out, ordered groceries online from the supermarket.

I like to see and feel what I'm buying, and also I like to vary which supermarket I shop in..everywhere sells such a lot of different things.. ...plus on several occasions I've seen food lying piled up in boxes at the certain supermarkets and freezer shops waiting to go out for delivery, and I've thought, that if there was fresh meat or shellfish in those deliveries..there would be a problem by the time the customer got them after they'd been sat around for so long. ..so it put me right off.

My daughter on the other hand when she lived here in the UK..always got her grocery shopping delivered...

No, I probably wouldn't do that unless I was housebound. If there was an item I really wanted that was rare and not available in local stores, then I probably would get it online.

Yes. I purchase large containers of McCann's Oatmeal, aspirin, vitamins, whey, soy and green tea from Amazon. These items are much less expensive or not available at stores near me. Also I purchase tea directly from Celestial Seasoning in CO.

Yes and no. I've bought canned goods, spices, and bottled water. But, I would not buy bread, produce, meats, fish, dairy or other stuff. I want to pick out my own chicken and broccoli. :eek:nthego:

No, but I'm glad it's available (from local supermarkets) and I'd want them delivered. Who knows., someday I might need it.

No, when they first started home deliveries I heard some bad
stories about substitutes if they didn't have what you wanted,
I think that they gave you the shops own cheapest version.

My brother gets all of his groceries on line.

I check around to do a mini comparison of who has the best deals
this week.

Mike.

On my store's online ordering form you check yes or no with regard to allowing substitutions. There's also a place for any special instructions. They call if you haven't indicated yes to substitutions. If I order the store brand and they are out of it they will substitute the name brand for the same price as the store brand.

No. I prefer to choose fresh goods for myself, and if I go to the store for one thing, I might as well get the lot. I also buy from small independent butchers and fishmongers - and they don't do online shopping.

No, not groceries. I love picking out my own ingredients too much. Plus I get ideas for dinners when I'm in the store. I will buy certain items that I can't find in the local markets here like unsalted Spike seasoning, or Duke's mayonnaise from Amazon or product websites. There's a local gal that's much younger than myself that loves the Hannaford's service of them shopping for you and picking it up though. I'm just not there yet.

Yes, I buy canned goods, etc. online. I just love the fact that they're delivered to my front door!

My Safeway deliveries are by appointment (1 hour slots) and it is brought in and out in our kitchen. Been doing that a couple of years...love it.

I use Fry's (Kroger's) pick up service sometimes. I was hesitant at first to use it for fresh produce but have started to and have had no issues with the quality of the produce yet. I still like to pick out my own meat and seafood.

Just got a flyer in the mail today about a new service Walmart is offering here. You order your groceries online, then drive up to the store, and they load your car. They don't say how much it costs.

I wouldn't use that at all. Rolling the cart around in the store is the easy part, if you know where everything is located. It's the driving and unloading after you get them home I don't like. And they'd never be able to load my vehicle without help, unless I'd removed all the junk before I left for the store, and put it all back afterwards. :)

Krogers like Walmart lets you order online and have special parking spots to use. Pick your time, call when you park and here they come and put in your car.Krogers already has a record of what I buy regularly and brings it up online to see if I want to use the click list option. Right now I like shopping in person but I am glad to have the service as an option for the future.

I think it would be wonderful if you were homebound for any reason. Also could be a big help at the holidays. I haven't needed it yet.
