Do You Use Your Direction Signals When You Drive?

That is advisable because there might be somebody that you can't
see, a walker, or someone might arrive as you are about to start the
turn, without the signals they have no idea what you are going to do.

Hollydolly, I don't know about horse riders, I was talking about a cart
drawn by a horse, I always thought that the riders only had to put out
a hand/arm on the side that they want to turn.

Mike.
we still have horses and cart and carriages here in the shires.. as well as horse-riders . There's lots of carriage riding around here like this...

I was taught by one of the best drivers Ed instructor’s that you could ever imagine and he always stressed how important it was to use your directional, of course it is also the law and must be followed for everyones safety.

If you're ever on a motorcycle and someone suddenly turns in front of you without a signal, you'll understand the feeling. 😡

I've accidently done that too. Poor guy. Had my eye on a maintenance truck blocking the road.

My rule of thumb while driving is give other drivers plenty of room and time to decide what they are going to do. This also infuriates people.

Sad to say I don't believe traffic violations are not being enforced..LEO's are being utilized elsewhere!! ☹
Ken.....I think you are 100% right on. I have seen numerous drivers running red lights. The freeway by my home has a speed limit of 55 mph. I go 63 mph, only because a friend of mine is a state cop and he once told me that he doesn’t know of any municipality that doesn’t allow drivers to do 10 over before issuing a citation.

Many other drivers blow by me like I am standing still. I haven’t gone through a radar trap in quite a long time. Driving on the Turnpike is different. I see radar traps about every 75 or so miles between my place and the Ohio line, which is about 275 miles. And believe me, the Pennsylvania State Police seldom gives anyone a break.

This is one reason why I quit biking. My reflexes aren’t what they used to be and a month or so before I sold my last bike, I was following a pickup down a very busy road, so we weren’t going fast at all; maybe 30 mph. We were all but past an intersection when he quickly turns. I immediately hit the break pedal and the front break lever in an attempt to avoid fish tailing. I thought for sure that I was going to end up in the bed of his truck, but somehow I got past him. (I couldn’t go out around him because it was a 4-lane highway and traffic was going by me.)
