More or less. Around here most roads are narrow and heavily forested and are very hilly and curvy. Wildlife and pedestrians in the road are both common. Posted speed limits are generally between 30-40 mph. The last place you want your eyes to be is on your speedometer. One must be constantly alert.
On the highway I drive the posted speed limit (or slower depending on road conditions) but do adjust to maintain the smooth flow of traffic when necessary.
