Do you wrap gifts or use gift bags?

I wrap. I enjoy choosing crepe paper, wrapping paper, ribbon and trinkets blended to make a pretty package.

For the family, I like to wrap all our presents in the same shiny red paper to match the tree's decorations so it doesn't look like such a big mess under the tree -- until my ex-husband drives up and gives my son a trunk full of bagged stuff. His family has always been huge Christmas gift people.

I use both depending on the present. I'm so old that I remember my mom having gifts wrapped at Marshall Fields (Chicago department store) at a special section. They turned out to be so fancy and gorgeous! šŸŽ

I like gift bags. Wrapping is a pain, just to have someone tear it up. Many I know use gift bags and tissue paper, or whatever it's called now. I use tape to close the top and slap one of those goofy loopy ribbons on the front. Looks a la mode. Plus it's a kick to watch the giftee get to work opening the bag, teehee.

Gift bag. There’s only one, for one person.

I don’t want to store wrapping paper. Space is at a premium.

I recall looking at all the wasted wrapping paper scattered about after the openings. Sometimes I’d try and fold up some pretty paper, though it never looked nice the second time around. Then I switched to mostly cloth wrapping bags.

The retailer where I generally shop provides nice, strong gift boxes for my purchases so I generally use those. OK, the boxes say Amazon on them but stick a couple of ready made bows on the box for that festive look and I'm ready to go. Plus a little work with my trusty colored markers turns the shipping table into a nifty gift card.

In years past I saved Sunday comics for wrapping paper and people seemed to like that too. They got a nice colorful gift package and could catch on what Blondie and Mary Worth were up to at the same time.
