He is a little over the top but it is just his way. Not a mean bone in his body. For awhile he was home while his wife had not yet retired, I think he was just lonely. None of the neighbors escaped, if you were outside he would be right there to have a conversationBlessed, your neighbor is really overstepping normal boundaries and I wouldn’t be happy. You found good ways to handle it.
I don't think we have such a thing here in the U.S.Report them to antisocial behaviour services and eventually they'll get karma.
Call the police services, not 911, and ask what services are available for antisocial behaviour and I guarantee (TX directed us to a charity who took care of that in the 90s) they'll let you know where the nearest social service department is and you'll be surprised of what they offer.I don't think we have such a thing here in the U.S.![]()
Goddess me I remember watching one of those episode in the 90s. Think it was called Neighbours from Hell. I was dumfounded as to some of the cases. Golly Geez what a tough thing to film. Sad yes when someone dies needlessly. One of the crime channels in usa has a designated show
about bad neighbors.....usually ends in someone's death....

I empathize with you. I lived in a condo a few years ago and the walls were not soundproof. When a person sneezed across the hall, I could hear it! One time, I even counted the number of sneezes - 12! When I first moved in, I had the hardwood flooring installed (replaced a dirty carpet) and people came knocking, not to welcome me, but to argue about the noise. I apologized and told them it was temporary and the job would be finished in a few days, but their response left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I could ever live in an apartment or condo in the future. I am too sensitive to noise. It is quiet and peaceful here with my 1 acre lot.I'm really sorry about that. Obnoxious noise should not invade your home like that.
The jerk downstairs, the abuser, just left for work late screaming f. bombs into his cell phone and "never f-ing want to see you again." I'm sure it's that poor woman. Of course he does, he wants to abuse her.
There have been some up and downs in this complex but it's mostly been decent. I've had two downstairs neighbors that used to be gone for weeks at a time so that was nice. Then there were the jerks that got evicted with the dog who yapped and whined the entire time they would be gone.
I think the fear of noise and harassment is one reason I never bought a condo though I'm thinking that may not have been the right choice.
Sorry you are going through this, @Ruthanne! I do not do well with noise and can empathize with you! I have also done something similar in the past (play music, or play the violin!). I also have used ear plugs to drown out the noise. Good luck!My neighbors have gotten on my last nerve. Noxious noise all the time. Tonight I said F it and turned my stereo up and enjoyed it! I'm sure there will be more noxious noise to come but playing my favorite music helpe
Anyone else have more problem neighbors??
He probably either needs hearing aids or the ones he has aren't working. My building is pretty quiet and especially my floor except for one guy down the hall. He talks super loud even if he is face to face with you. He sometimes yells or laughs too loud at his television. Also when he is on the phone, I can hear every word he says. Luckily he gets up every morning at 5 and is gone for the whole day. Maybe he has a hearing problem, I don't really know.
What bothered me most about neighbors in my building is when they whine and complain about everyone all the time. We had two of them and they were a brother and sister. The brother lived next door to me and he was so grumpy all the time. He just moved out a couple of months ago and what a relief. His sister was downstairs and always causing trouble but she left before he did. Now it is pretty nice here.
