Doctors and age

My PCP closed his private practice and joined one of the many in-network groups that are out there now. Mine is called Wellspan Medical. They run almost everything medical, including hospitals in the County. I see now where we are going to be getting UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) coming into our County. I have noticed a big difference since the change. Before he changed over, we would sometimes just sit and have a nice few minutes conversation about almost anything, but now, he's all business. I still feel that he cares about me and is there for me 24/7. I have his personal cell number and can call him anytime without fear of getting my chops busted.

BTW, rule of thumb by the American Heart Association is that anyone over 50 experiencing chest pains should get their self to the ER ASAP. I was experiencing chest pains while in Florida a few years back and walked into the ER to a nearby hospital and they treated me like I was the POTUS. I never felt so secure in my life. They were all over me and the final diagnosis was that I had pulled my chest muscles from moving furniture earlier that day. I started lifting light weights after I felt better and have not had any issues since. I do 20 pound lifts in each hand using a 20 pound dumbbell and doing 2 sets of 10 reps in each hand every other day.

I'm now on my 3rd cardiologist. I can guarantee that this one won't be dismissive...would probably want me to dial 911 if not at his office or get to the ER immediately. But I already know enough to do either of those and then call on the way to the hospital to make sure his office knows I'm on my way.
