Doctors Offering Video Consultations by Live Chat

Just use the camera on your cellphone or laptop. I'm sure it's mostly for routine stuff; they can't diagnose serious illness so I'm not sure how much value it has. I can send my doctor an email describing symptoms and she will respond by email and send a prescription to the pharmacy if needed.

I had to phone my doctor a few hours ago and had to wait ten minutes to speak to the receptionist . All triage is now being done over the phone , then a decision will be made .

May 5th had a video conference with my PCP. Visit lasted about the same length of time as if I had gone to the office. Of course he couldn't take my BP or other vitals. He needed me to do followup semi-annual CBC. Next day drove to the office called, within 15 minutes 2 medical techs came out to my auto, they had scrubs, masks, gloves & safety glasses along with their tray full of medical goodies, took my blood through the open driver's window, 24 hours later had my labs, and a call from the assistant with my results & advice from the PCP. Easy. So far no demand for co-pay.

Additionally my driver's license expires in June, but our state has extended the grace period out to 1 year beyond the expiration date. No extra fees.

I am not sure about my GP, as my visits are usually to check my BP (due to meds) and all, But I do not go again until July. I have met with my therapist via video chat. She sends me a direct link to her "waiting room" She is notified when I arrive and then completes the connection. She is still able to submit to my insurance for payment
