DOD civilians in Vietnam awarded Veteran's status

While I am very happy for those benefiting from this, it infuriates me. My deceased wife was in Long Binh working for the Army for 18 months. Had she been military she'd have been 100% disabled and I'd have been getting paid for her care.
I'm an Army vet. I haven't said this since I was active: FOXTROT THANGO ALPHA!

So sorry, DGM. It smacks of, "too little too late," doesn't it?

I just read Kristin Hannah's "The Women." A novel about the military women who served in Vietnam. Even they had trouble getting veteran's benefits.
