For me , the word is Iconic.
Lately it is used everywhere. The news, TV shows, advertising, newspapers and even some of my email contacts are using the danged word.
It is like it is the only adjective in the world right now to describe a situation.
Watch, read and listen. .... you'll get what I mean.:(

"Shared with me," instead of told me.
I have come to accept this, although it often applies something that is not necessarily a part of altruistic sharing, which can be a bit annoying in certain circumstances. It can be an aggressive punch in the brain, like when someone loses self control and rakes another over the coals with a scathing attack and gets a response like, "Have a nice day."

Depending on the specific circumstances sounds like you're advocating for people to respond in kind to such attacks. Doesn't make sense to me. Would you rather someone reply just as aggressively or in some cases if a speaker really 'lost control' respond with an actual punch?

Haven't seen that used much, perhaps because few people wax whimsical anymore. On this forum i can think of one person forms of the word whimsy apply to you. He almost always takes a lighthearted view of things, but his humor is never unkind to others.
In gardening shows they'll say "this adds whimsy to the garden". Yet, I don't mind whimsical. Hmm 🙂
