I love old sheet music! My grandmother had a piano and there were volumes in her attic. I wish I could play but just enjoy the covers. Even the detail of how notes were written out before standard printing. There was one I used to have called "Red Hair" with Clara Bow on the cover. Wish I still had it, would probably be a collectors piece today.
I did find a terrific one mixed in with other stuff. It was called "Me-ow" and the publishing date was 1919. It has a cat yowling on the cover. Looks strangely like my baby Levon. We matted it and framed it. It will be front n' center over my desk. I'll post a pic soon. Something amusing on the back is an ad with a Pa Kettle kind of cartoon. He offers the music for another tune and underneath it says "Catchy "Pep" Song for your player piano or talking machine". I wonder what a talking machine was in those days?
