I don't often wear a set of pajamas but rather nightgowns that look like long dresses around my home. Sometimes I will wear sweats in the Winter. I go to the store in sweats too but not in a nightgown.

Yes, this is me. Comfort is the answer, inside or outside my home.

Ah okay. I'm not such familiar with the names, but in some of the ads they're called "nightgowns" together with nightshirts.

Is this because the word "gown" is only used for women's garments?

Unless ill enough that I need to remain in bed, I get fully dressed every morning before leaving my bathroom. Staying in PJs all day would make me feel like a slug. Like @Pepper, I'd find it depressing to hang around in sleep or loungewear all day.

Also, when you’re retired and single, you can eat whenever you want. I love that. If I want lunch at 11:00 or dinner at 3:30, no one can stop me!

I'm semi-retired and married. I eat what I want when I want, nobody stops me. I don't question DH when he eats, either.

Nothing to criticize there. Our cat Lilou woke me up every night at 3:30 a.m. for food. Then she made her round in the garden and around the house. I left the door ajar and stayed up until she came back and both of us went sleeping again.

I wear nightgowns and always get dressed after my 2nd cup of coffee. So usually about nine. People are knocking on my door in the morning and I like to be presentable which means dressed. They don't come here every day but I am ready if they do.

Yes, I could be. And am found in them odd times of the day.

I really don't own pj's but sleep in tee shirts. The legs of the bottoms get twisted up and drive me nuts. Same with nightgowns. So I don't wear bottoms when I sleep.

When I bought my DKNY nightgowns, the clerk told me women were buying them as dresses. I could see that and thought it would be the perfect casual dress. I still couldn’t do that knowing it was meant as nightwear.

The nightwear hasn’t been available for years, maybe a piece or two on Amazon. Always pricey. I searched there today and saw a nightie that was somewhat similar. The sleeves aren’t the same. I ordered it anyways. The nice thing about DKNY was how wide the hem was. Less restrictive.

There are some pajamas in the closet that I have never worn. T-shirt and boxers work fine for sleeping. Cargo pants organize me during the day.

I do my morning routine and get dressed everyday. I'm concerned that if I don't, one thing after another with self-care will begin to go. It will just become easier to not do other things. The clothes that I wear around the house are very comfy, not the same as what I wear when I have to go away. I also spend a lot of time on the computer and doing arting, crafting and DIY. Being dressed daily works out better for me.

Sunday is an easy, restful day for me. I keep on my sleepers, robe and house shoes later into the day but I get dressed later.

I wear boxers and a t-shirt to bed. Weird, but I don't even want to take a call until I've had my shower and dressed. I think it comes from working at home for 14 years. I had my personal persona and my business persona.
