Does anyone else ride?

We are so looking forward to the weather getting warmer so we can get the Harley up and running again. The longest we've ridden was from his daughter's house in Florida to Key West..about 5 hours. Riding across the Keys as the sun was setting was a truly magical experience! Does anyone else ride?

Is he wearing Ariat Lace-Up Roper boots? I see the kilt at the bottom of the shoe laces. If they are, there the same boots I wore during my rodeo/roping days. My wife has a pair as well.

Nope, don't ride anymore. When I did ride, it was an old Kawasaki 750 4-K (4 into 1 pipe). I have reminders of my old riding days...…..lump in my clavicle bone (from a cracked clavicle) and two screws and a plate in ankle. Actually, I think vehicle drivers respect motorcycle riders more years ago than today.

He is!!! His Ropers and his cowboy boots (several pair) are his footwear faves. Good eye! ;)

I've had several bikes through the years the last was a 95' Honda Goldwing that I purchased new.

I rode the heck out of it for ten or twelve years then I got back into shooting handguns competitively and traveling to matches every weekend and the bike started collecting dust so I sold it......Stupid Me !

Figured that I'd get another bike when I retired 4-2015 but knowing how I like to crack the throttle open when I ride a bike mama was dead set against it.....tried explaining to her that if I crashed doing 65 that I'd be just as dead as I would be if I was doing 105 but for some strange reason that warped reasoning failed to convince her. :)

95' Goldwing.

If I were to ever get another bike, which definitely won't happen, it would be a Honda Goldwing. Sorry, just not a Harley person. Too loud.

Don’t be sorry...to each his own. They ARE loud....one of the things I love about them! Ron even modified his exhaust some to amplify that exhaust growl. That rumble...oh man! :D

You bet. My first vehicle I bought was a Suzuki 400 similar to this only I had it modified - different exhaust, shocks, handle bars etc

Then I bought a crotch rocket like this

That my husband made me give away cause ‘he’ was scared :whome:
I would LOVE to be able to ride again. I miss it so much.

My next bike will be an Indian though. I’ve always liked those and I won’t listen to my husband if he starts whining again

I haven't ridden since I got a serious burn on my calf. After weeks of debridement of the wound (a truly lovely experience no doubt invented by the Spanish Inquisition) and having to work with my burned leg bandaged and up on a chair while it drained goopy stuff, and almost having to have reconstructive surgery, I decided I no longer wanted to ride. It was a good decision.

I did , for 50 years. Arthritis has taken me from it. I have traveled border to border & coast to coast several times. It is IMO a great way to see this beautiful country in which we live....Life changes many things...Age changes everything.

We enjoyed riding when we were younger. Then, in one 12 month period, we lost her brother, my cousin, and two close friends in biking accidents - all careful, experienced riders. Sold the bike. Have never missed it.

Like rpg and Pappy I drove long distance from coast to coast and it was some of the best memories of my lifetime.
I met lots of people, saw plenty of amazing scenery and had ultimate freedom. I had to switch bike styles due to my tailbone injury. The Ninja allowed me to ride so my tailbone wasn’t affected and it worked. Of course it wouldn’t be the same if I were a passenger. I really miss riding and hope to purchase another bike someday.
I lost a brother in a motorcycle accident when I was 19.

I just sold my 2009 HD Street Glide last fall. I didn’t ride it much and really just lost interest. I live in York, PA where a lot of Harley’s are manufactured. Yes, there are several bikes around this area. I attend the Fall Fest each year, more just to check out the bikes and the ladies. It’s really nice to see so many females riding these days and not just sitting on the back.

Used to many moons ago. Living in Houston's traffic is no place for a two wheeler. I even sold my 5.0 Mustang because half the time I drove it I could smell the clutch burning for the stop & go traffic that plagues this town.

Oh, absolutely. I've ridden bikes since I was 15, and I don't plan to stop. Wife is also big on riding, but, her ankles wouldn't let her ride solo anymore, so, it was trike time for her.:)
Over the years, I've owned Honda's, Suzuki's, BSA's, Lifan, Yamaha, Sears, a couple of choppers, and even a sach's WWII war bike. But now, a 100th anniversary Harley Heritage does it for me.

I rode for about thirty years, doing lots of solo camping outings all over Texas. I broke my arm in a slide due to hitting a puddle that never previously existed, and hasn't since. It was from a wet down truck on a local construction site. After that I kept riding, but in Austin it's usually too hot, too cold or too rainy to ride. The bike spent more time on a battery tender in my garage than on the road. I sold it about twenty years ago. I don't miss it
