IMG_0448.jpgI have four of these unusually heavy upholstered chairs of unknown origin cluttering up part of my apartment and have no ideal how I came to aquire them. I am trying to get rid of them on CRAIG's LIST.

Nice looking chairs.

Any markings on them?

They look to me like they have been reupholstered at least once, with the wrong fabric, or they may have been caned originally. My guess is that they would get lumped into the category of Late English Regency or English Regency Revival, no idea what they would be worth. Look at a few examples on Ebay.

I really don't care what they are worth, I just want to get them out of my apartment. So far, I haven't even been able to give them away.

I would take them to a consignment shop first and see if they sell. Then if not, donate them to Goodwill. I think they are lovely!

Lon, since you have them on Craigs List, just switch it over to their FREE area. Someone will come right out and get them. They are pretty chairs, if I had room in my house I'd drive down and get them.

Email that picture around to local antique dealers and ask if they're interested in them. If not, try doing the same thing with local used furniture dealers. If they're interested, tell them they'll have to come pick them up.

If you're looking to give them away, call the Salvation Army or Goodwill. They have trucks that go around picking up donations.

Put them by the curb with a sign $100...Do not put FREE sign on them!!! They will be gone in a minute if you put a value on them!!!!

Correct! My bil had some tires he wanted rid of, set them by the curb and they were ignored for a week. Set them out later in the summer with a for sale sign on them and a chain just run through them. They were gone the second night!

I've recently been going through all the stuff I inherited from my mother. To her it was valuable "antique" stuff. I've looked most of it up on the internet and it really isn't worth anything. I'm donating it to the local charity store, which is more than willing to take it off my hands.
