Doesn't It Drive You Crazy When....

I can understand your frustration. I have no business being in a left lane, because I drive at exactly the speed limit.

However, sometimes we don't have much choice. Immediately upon getting off a ferry (that I'd never taken before), I found myself in the left lane of a crowded multilane high-speed highway in a major city. People were honking. I would have loved to get into the right lane (and, in fact, off the highway), but there was too much traffic to do so safely.

Then there was the time I took a ramp onto another city highway. Instead of feeding into the right lane, it fed into the left lane. Of course there were cars behind me on the ramp, so I had to go for it. Terrible!

So I could say being forced into a left lane is something that drives me crazy.
I doubt I would fuss if I were behind you and recognized that you were making efforts to move over. I'm disturbed when I see someone in the left lane, blocking traffic by driving parallel to some in the right lane and they have half a mile of traffic backed up behind them.

Something which drives me crazy is when measurements are in centimetres. I can only think in feet and inches. Whenever I'm browsing on-line, I have to keep a tape measure handy.
I'm 50-50 on them measurements. During my time creating floorplans, I did most of them in metric. My recipes baking or cooking, that's 1/4 cup, teaspoons and all. None in metrics. Deli's (cold cuts) in USA it's 1/2 pound, here it's 500grams.

It was at school in 1972, but my father was into carpentry so never metrics (he wasn't in the mood to change his tools' collection and he died two years later). I didn't replace them either.

Other thing that "Drives Me Crazy!!!" Name Sizing for Mattresses. For years, I was looking for a Queen Size and even gave them the metrics and inches numbers. They always said NO! Got fed up...

One day in December 2021, walked into British Heart Foundation, saw a mattress we wanted, pulled out measuring tape (Queen Size perfect) and ask the clerk and finally after nearly 25 years of waiting, learned that they're called King Size. Now, all my whole bedding fits perfectly. Why didn't they measured them instead of sending us off. Argh!!!!!

My dear English and American people, you should get the metric system. Pronto.🤣
We've had the Metric sytsem since the 70's,,,lol... but you know when you've been taught in Imperial..for some of us it's just automatic to think in Imperial...
I'm quite good at working in Litres when it comes to fuel... and I'm quite happy when it comes to the weather.. 5 deg c.. 41 deg F.. it's easy for me to convert.. but like @Lavinia I prefer to work in inches.. and I have to get a tape measure out to convert centimetres to inches or feet to metres..
