Dog joins boy, 3, in timeout, adorable photo shows: 'Peas in a pod'

Best friends don’t go to timeout alone, as illustrated by an adorable photo of a 3-year-old boy and his large dog that has gone viral on Facebook.

Ohio mom Jillian Smith recently gave her young son Peyton two choices following a fight with his big sister Ryleigh: Go to his room or stand in timeout, Fox 8 reports.

Dogs always know when they're needed. They are sensitive beings and want to comfort their people.

When my youngest foster sister came to live with us at the age of 11 after her parents died tragically, our dog almost never left her side. The dog was always there, pressing against her and administering therapeutic kisses. She would run back and forth between my sister and my mother....."Do something! Do something! Make it better!"

So sweet!!

I was sick one day, really feeling puny and chilled. I laid down on the bed and both dogs came up with me. One stretched out against one side of me, the other stretched out on the other side. They kept me warm and snug. It was exactly what I needed.

Awww, that's what my labs used to do. It's such a comforting feeling.
