As for me, I think there are some of us that do thing or say things that either our age group would consider "silly" or younger age groups would think "weird for their age". Sort of reminds me of a couple of statements some parents say to their teens, when the teen does something silly or older folks can say to other older folks......."You should grow up!", "Stop acting like a child!" Heck, even husbands and wives have said either or both to their spouse. I KNOW, there are those that will say, "I don't care of others think of what I do or what I say", but, then again, there are those that do care (somewhat anyway) about what others think of what we do or what we say.
Last year when we bought Halloween costumes of Princess Leia and Darth Vader, I'm sure there were those that thought we were either "weird" or "silly" or both.........for doing this at our age. Seems like the only Halloween party's there is for Seniors is at Senior Centers or Square Dance Clubs. A lot of Square Dance Clubs are made up of Seniors. Anyway, this year, wife decided she wanted to be a female Stormtrooper. With Princess Leia, she wore no mask and has decided that she didn't like that. So, if her costume fits, that was ordered yesterday, she will be a Female Stormtrooper w/a full helmet on and stand by her hubby who is Darth Vader w/a full helmet on (again). Will really wonder what people are thinking when we both take our helmets off and they realize just how old we are! We have one party to go to..........could be interesting. LOL
Funny, one time when wife and I went into a GNC store, I looked at the clerk and said "you might get some older customers if you was to put some pictures of older people on your walls." I'm sure the clerk thought, obviously didn't say, I was weird for saying that. Well, just thinking about how some of us "older" ones look today, like myself,...........that isn't going to happen (pictures on their walls)!
Another thing, I still say the word "dude" to my BIL and some other guys and "party time" to some people.
These two things I don't think I've ever heard folks our age say!
So, do you say or do what some would consider "silly" or "weird" for our age?
