Doing 'your part' for recycling?

The U.S.produces over 20% of the world's trash.

The annual contribution includes:

20 billion disposable diapers

2 billion pens and razors...etc.

Are you environmentally conscious?

?

Up to a point. But as a senior, I've given myself permission to use certain disposables. Particularly paper towels instead of cloth. I even dry myself with paper towels after a shower. The alternative would be constant laundry, which would mean going up and down stairs, waiting for other tenants to finish, and paying even more for laundry than I already do ($40-$50 a month).

If I were in a nursing home, they'd be using disposable everything.

I have to drive my own recyclables to the depot, because our municipality has no recyclable pickup. Of course, driving there uses gas.

It's good to be aware, but an individual can only do so much.

i am/am not,,certain things i remember,every thing else is rubbish

I am very conscious of not using any more disposable items than necessary. I even use cloth pee pads for my dogs. I don’t have laundry in my unit although I could have it installed but it would require a plumber and electrician to the tune of 2k plus the cost of the appliances because my unit doesn’t have hookups.

But I did buy an apartment dryer that vents into a bucket of water. I use a cart to take my laundry down and bring it up and dry at my leisure. If my bathroom was bigger I would put an apartment washer in there. I spend 25/month on laundry.
