Don’t you just hate when people say.....

At work when people who work under me state (and I get this a lot) "I just thought you should know." While technically I did need to know, it may take an hour out of my life. Often I also find this information I needed to know was reported to someone else while I wasn't even at work and they did nothing. Happened to me on Wednesday. "I told blank yesterday." Blank did nothing.

Well you Dolt, it doesn’t HAVE to be, get up off your b**t and DO something about it.

And I hate it when middle aged men call me “Young lady”. (In over 80) Old or young men don’t do that, and unless I’m at a store counter or something, when they say it I clean their clock for them.

Along those lines is if you call somewhere and the computer plays over and over again "Due to a higher then expected call volume "........

if this plays everyday then perhaps it is time to re-evaluate the expectations of how many calls they will get.
But people buy in to that instead of the reality they simply do not value customer calls or answering them.

That is one I kind of like and use.

To mean something like "oh well that's just how it is, not necessarily the way I want it but I can't change things"

in certain situations.... i can see its application ...
i guess i dislike it so, because most of the time i heard it the person DID have the ability to change something but chose this annoying line as a cop out.

once again the ... I am offended by everything crowd .... ruins simple conversation.

I remember a man i worked with asked me "will you tell Jane that is a good color on her or a nice blouse etc" because he was worried a person he had zero sexual interest in would turn him in for harassment.....
many people no longer compliment because they are not sure who is going to make it into a case.

I couldn't agree more....
 
At department stores, "If you apply for our store credit card, you can save 20% on your current purchase."

At grocery stores, "Did you find everything you were looking for?" Yes, and more than I needed.

At drug stores, "Welcome". Like they really care.
