Loved him in "Ordinary People". The character he portrays is a great husband and a great father, but his life is coming apart. His marriage is shaky, one son died in an accident and the other one tried to commit suicide. When he tells his son's therapist that he was lucky that he came home early that day and was able to save his son's life, the therapist asks him if he considers himself to be a lucky person. He hesitates for a moment and then says, "I used to". He just played the character perfectly; the kind of man that any woman or child would love to have as aDonald Sutherland died today after a long illness according to his son, Keifer. He was 88 years old.

I've always been amazed at all of the Canadians in music and showbusiness, that I've been a big fan of, and I never knew that they were Canadians, until later in life, or after they passed away.So proud that he was "one of ours". May his soul Rest in Peace.
