And even without the internet those phrases crossed the pond..........in an instant.
Who was told that, if you cross your eyes, they’ll stay that way? How many kids grew up thinking that eating carrots will improve their vision? And just about every kid was told that sitting very close to the TV can damage your eyes.
Our neighbour's boy was told that masturbating will make him go blind. It must be true, he wore glasses from an early age.
