Doom scrolling: a damaging compulsion

Along with "doom scrolling", I wonder about the effects of those 24 hour true crime networks. I think watching 2 hour "Dateline" after 2 hour "Dateline" has to warp you in some way. With at least one abducted, murdered woman an hour is 168 dead women a week!

I use to find myself doom scrolling nightly until the last election (US). I can't take that much doom and had to stop. I feel much better without it.

There's plenty of doom to go around. As soon as you watch say, one bear attack video, ten more pop up.
