Dowager’s Hump &/or Osteoporosis

Anyone else have Dowager’s Hump? Possibly mine is related to osteoporosis. I really think it’s also probably too much time reading/typing and not enough time with weight bearing exercises. Walking is supposed to be good, though it hasn’t kept me as straight as would be expected.

My posture has always been really good. I never realized I’m developing a curve in my shoulder, until my husband made a little comment. The mirror confirmed.

Also, I was just diagnosed with osteoporosis. Now I’m really afraid of falling.

We won’t even discuss my height now. Where did I disappear to.

Could the curve that you mentioned be due to a stance that you adopt to relieve arthritis? It's a subconcious reaction simply to reduce or avoid a constant pain.

I've been doing rotating shoulder shrugs w/my 2lb weights to help with straightening out my posture.
It's helping and my neck muscles are stronger. I do it while sitting down in front of my computer and standing up in front of my mirror.

I arch my shoulders back and my head and neck held high. Feels good.

No, I don’t have arthritis. I’m not in pain.
