Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap

Anyone still use this unusual soap?
Popular in the 70's if I remember correctly, with a dozen or more uses.

-Shampoo
-Face, Hand and Body Soap
-Make-up remover
-Shaving
-Teeth cleaning
-Deodorant
-Dish Washing
-Household Cleaner
-Laundry detergent
-Pet wash
-Wound Cleaning

Came with a Warning that you should dilute it for proper benefits.

Still out there. I remember the Peppermint smell on some people.
We added a bottle to our emergency earthquake kit in California.
 

A couple of years ago I bought a bottle of this after reading great comments online. Used it for about two weeks, didn’t like it. Haven’t a clue what I did with it.

This reminds me that I should put a bar of shampoo is my earthquake kit. It won’t freeze in the winter.
 
Yes. My family always had a bar of that brown soap on hand. One of my grandmothers swore by it. It was more popular in the fifties and sixties because later there were so many wonderful soaps and shampoos and cleansers. I didn't like it because it didn't get me really clean and I liked to be very clean.

teeth cleaning ?... I've never heard of a soap that can be used to clean teeth as well...

In the 60's and 70's a perfumed soap called Knights Castile was very popular in our house.. I don't know if it's still sold all these years on,...

and also Wrights Coal Tar soap...which was an antiseptic carbolic soap, so stronlgy scented that we could wash our hands in the bathroom, and we could still smell the soap all over the house...

I had it once years ago, I don't remember where or how it ended up.

Soaps with no or nasty fragrance are not for me. I love fragrance! Yardley English Lavender bar or even Dove.

I have a pine tar shampoo I use occasionally if I get some dandruff and I like that smell too.
 
I mix Dr. Bronner's castile peppermint soap with peppermint oil to make a peppermint balm. The peppermint oil thickens it a bit. My favorite shower ritual is to use it on my back. It gives my back and refreshing minty feel, something like my mouth gets when using a minty toothpaste.

I love shaving my legs with dr. Bronners peppermint liquid Castile soap. It was a great soap for taking camping since it was biodegradable.
We took it on our interior canoe trips. A little bit goes a long way. We used it to clean dishes and clothes. When interior camping every ounce makes a difference especially during the portages.

Since you use it for so many things, I hope you are getting it at a nice price. We used to at Costco, but they don't sell it anymore. The last bottle I got was from Amazon and I think it was pricy considering it was only 8 ounces, but I was all out. Good for you for being environmentally conscious.

I purchase my dr. Bronners Castile soup at winners or at a health food store. I’ve never seen it at Costcos but will keep my eye open.
On interior camping trips it was a perfect biodegradable soap which served as a multipurpose soap. It was especially nice using it as a shaving cream since it left that peppermint coolness that acted as an astringent. I haven’t used it in years now but might start using it again. Thanks for the reminder.
