A drip pan is a tray that catches condensation from your freezer’s defrost drain. Most of the moisture evaporates on its own, so there’s no need to wipe down this piece of equipment on a weekly basis. But even residual amounts of moisture can breed harmful microbes and mold if they’re left to sit for too long. So is a good idea to check from time to time.

On my last Fridge Freezer, the drain pipe from the Fridge would occasionly block so i would clean that and the drain pan , This new Fridge Freezer there is none its sealed and Frost free

I have a fairly new refrigerator/freezer and there is no drip pan anywhere in it. Frost free and sealed also.

Since there is no material for the mold to feed on like paper or wood, mold would not be a big issue. Still, it is a good idea to pull your frig out, vacuum under and around to prevent heat build up, and clean the drain pan and drain hose. I would think once or twice a year would be fine.

Our drain plugged up and I unplugged by blowing air back through it. Had to remove a panel in the freezer to get access so I could pour hot water down the drain from the top once I loosened things up. Also had to defrost everything and take everything out to sit in coolers. So it ended up being a big job but it was worth it since we no longer had overflow water on the floor! We were ready to get a new frig but did not have to. This only happened once in the 19 years we have had the frig.

mine is the same ! I've had it quite a few years now.
Same here. There is no drain or tube anywhere to be found on my Fridge Freezer. Its a frost free Fridge Freezer. I cant really remember the last time I saw a freezer that wan't a frost free version.
